Dearly Beloved:

MAY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BLESS YOU IN ALL YOUR WAYS.

A dear woman in our church came to me after one of our services. She grabbed my hand and said, "Thank you so much for publishing that precious book, Triumph Through Tragedy. I've been giving copies to hospital patients who are devastated and feeling hopeless. The response has been marvelous, and many have asked for prayer."

I've been hearing from others who have given their copy of this book to people enduring cancer and all kinds of other calamities. And the result has been the same: opened hearts and pleas for prayer. If you wish, you may contact our office for a special price on bulk orders of this book, for gifts or to give away. (I do not profit from this book.)

Here in New York, the Twin Towers fire is still burning. Smoke drifts over the city at times, and you can hear coughing on the streets and even in the subways. The city is almost always on alert. At Times Square Church, we have doubled our security team, who inspect all bags and backpacks. No one can enter any theater in the city now without an inspection of every bag and package. The fear of anthrax has unsettled multitudes. When there is a subway scare, people scramble to get to the exits. There is such a different environment now. But there is no fear among God's people. We tell our congregation that Times Square Church is the safest place to be in Manhattan, because the Holy Spirit, our protector, is always present.

We have given every dollar received for the Police and Firemen's Widow and Children's fund directly to the local precincts, for immediate distribution. We didn't want those funds to be tied up in red tape and bureaucracy. Thanks to all who have given.
