Dearly Beloved:

THE LORD BE PRAISED!

No matter how many troubles and trials we have in life, we all have much to thank God for. Today, as I was praying and waiting on the Lord, I began to count my blessings and thank him for his great faithfulness. I'm sure you have much to thank him for, too.

  • I thank God for my health and the health of my family. We have experienced much suffering over the years, but looking back we all can say God has been good. My wife, Gwen, and my two daughters, Debbie and Bonnie, were all afflicted with cancer. I think they call this a "cluster," meaning it's inherited. Gwen has undergone over twenty-five operations, six for various cancers, including double mastectomy, removal of a kidney, and thyroid and bowel cancers. Debbie and Bonnie both were not expected to survive their cancers. But today all three are doing well and apparently cancer-free. For this I truly praise and thank my blessed Lord.

  • I thank God he has kept me all these years - and that he has placed in me a hunger to know Christ as never before. I thank God for raising up Times Square Church in the middle of New York City, America's modern Babylon. Thousands here are turning to Christ, and now this wicked city has a testimony for Christ on Broadway, confronting the powers of spiritual darkness.

  • I thank God for our four married children, all in ministry. For our eleven grandchildren, all of whom love Jesus. For a debt-free ministry to drug addicts, alcoholics and the fatherless and homeless. For the blessed hope of Christ's soon return. For the rest and assurance in my soul that God is going to protect and keep his people in the approaching financial storm. For friends of this ministry who pray for us and support us monthly without our having to beg or plead.

Over the years I have proven God faithful to his word. He told me to wholly trust him to meet all the needs of our outreaches to the poor and needy. He also promised that if I trusted him completely, our ministry would always be debt-free and would be able to bless and edify the saints rather than pressure them for finances. God has kept his words to me - all through the years. I praise him for his utter faithfulness!

God help us all to enumerate and remember his blessings, and to give him thanks. God love you and keep you.

His bondservant,
David Wilkerson
